Congratulation to the women's golf team for winning their third region championship in a row. The team will look to win their third state championship in a row next week on October 18th and 19th at Bear's Best Golf Course in Las Vegas.

Congratulations to Women's Soccer

Women's soccer won the 4A State Championship. In route to the Nevada State Title the Green Valley High School Women’s Soccer team beat Desert Pines 5-0, VoTech 3-1, Coronado in a 3-1 sudden victory shootout for the Southeast Regional Title, and Beat Centennial 1-0 in the State Title game.

Congratulations to Coach Nick Garritano for being inducted into the UNLV Hall of Fame.

 

Congratulations to Coach Greg Murphy

Greg Murphy has been selected by the Clark County High School Football Coaches Association for enshrinement into the Clark County High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame. This honor is in recognition for the many years of unselfish and dedicated service that Coach Murphy has given to the student athletes in Clark County.

Congratulations to the Women's Golf Team

The women's golf team defended their 2009 Region Championship by winning the 2010 Sunrise Region Championship by 40 strokes. Alex Kaui also repeated as individual Region Champion.

Congratulations to the Women's Golf Team

The Green Valley Gators Women's Golf team and Coached Murphy capped off a perfect season with a record setting performance with a 90 stokes victory at the Nevada State Championships. The team was lead by Individual State Champion Alex Kaui who set the lowest two day total in state history by shooting an eight under par for the 36 hole championship.

Congratulations to our September Gator Athletes of the Month

A big congratulations is due to Coach Greg Murphy, Coach Nick Garritano and the Women's golf team for winning the Nevada State Championship. Also Green Valley had the top two individual place winners with Jennifer Hahn taking first and Alexandra Kaui finishing second.

Title IX simply states: "No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, or denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving federal financial assistance."

The law does not say that educational institutions must provide equal opportunity for women and girls in athletics. The law does not say that women coaches must be compensated fairly for coaching women's and girls' sports. The law does not say that educational institutions can provide a learning environment that helps women and girls learn and enroll in "non-traditional" subjects, such as math, technology, and science. The law does not say that woman and girls must be free from sexual harassment in school. The law does not say that each school district must have a Title IX coordinator, that is, a person responsible for helping to ensure compliance with all aspects of Title IX, and a complaint procedure so that a student can safely bring these issues to the school's attention. But Title IX has spawned all of these things.
